With governor's race taking form, Douglas makes first move

Gov. Jim DouglasGov. Jim DouglasIn an email to supporters today, Republican Gov. Jim Douglas took aim at his opponents, Progressive Party candidate Anthony Pollina and Democrat Gaye Symington.

"With two opponents now in the race, Vermonters will have a clear choice this November," Dougulas wrote.
Douglas took on Symington, a former House speaker, for opposing his economic stimulus plan that passed the legislature last month.

"There is a clear distinction between me and my two opponents," Douglas told supporters. "Gaye Symington and Anthony Pollina have proven, time and again, to be out of touch with the needs and priorities of Vermonters."

Symington and Pollina are looking to unseat the three-term incumbent governor this November.
