What the Vermont political world is talking about today

Insiders are abuzz about a Saturday Brattleboro Reformer piece pitting the Douglas administration and Senate President Peter Shumlin against one another.

“The disagreement stems from a Tuesday meeting during which members of the Douglas administration and the Senate leadership were discussing how to make up shortfalls in the state health care budget. According to Secretary of Administration Mike Smith, Shumlin proposed eliminating Catamount Health subsidies for those who earn between 200 and 300 percent of the federal poverty level.”
