Vermont GOP chair Rob Roper is out this afternoon with a letter of congratulations to Republican presidential nominee John McCain.
“I want to congratulate Senator John McCain on his victory in the Vermont Republican Primary election and for securing the Republican nomination for president,” Roper writes.
"John McCain has always had a very special relationship with the people of Vermont. He has demonstrated his respect and affection for our state on several occasions. Today, Vermonters showed again that the feeling is mutual. I am glad we had the chance to play an active role on the day that put John McCain over the top.”
Roper also writes:
“John McCain’s campaign for president is an exciting opportunity for Vermont. He is a tested leader who has proven time and again that he can face up to adversity and overcome it. I am confident that he is the best candidate to guide our nation, rejuvenate our economy and keep us safe in these challenging times. I’m am looking forward to the work ahead, and for the part Vermont will play in electing John McCain to be our next President of the United States.”
