New WCAX poll sends everyone spinning

As news hit last night of the WCAX numbers for the upcoming governors race, PolitickerVT was getting emails. 

And all parties saw positives in the numbers.

The Governor sat in the low fifties and the opposition sees an opportunity to introduce their candidates and bring the Governor below 50%.  “The Governor’s popularity is faltering, you can see that in the numbers”, emailed one political insider. Another Republican operative told me, “With a Dem and a Prog in the race, they can’t challenge the Governor in any real way, the numbers just aren’t there.” Despite all the spinning, I think this morning Democratic and Progressive leadership will need to start talking about a single candidate if they seriously want the Governor’s Seat.  We will be watching….
