Dubie, Shumlin announce re-election bids

Lt. Gov. Brian DubieLt. Gov. Brian DubieThursday morning on Charlie and Ernie's WVMT-AM radio talk show, Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie announced that he will run for re-election. Dubie, a conservative Republican, is wildly popular throughout Vermont, despite his strong support for President Bush and his pro-life position. Dubie has been fortunate to have won three-way contests for the lieutenant governor's post. We will see how this year's race will unfold to see if a three-way race with a Progressive and a Democratic candidate develops that would help keep Dubie in office.

Also this morning on the other side of the political spectrum, the state Senate's Democratic leader, Peter Shumlin, announced his re-election to the state Senate. Many still believe that Shumlin is pacing himself for a shot at the governorship once Gov. Jim Douglas vacates the post.

We may just see these two men going head to head in a few years as they both look to replace Douglas, but for now they are running for re-election.

Dubie did not need the help

Dubie did not need the help of a three way race. Only the Democrats(Socialists) and the Progressives(Wackjobs) would benefit in the reverse situation...But of course! That is why they(Dems and Progs) push for the Voter runoff....What a joke that is....Just look what it did for Burlington....LOL. I guess Burlington residents got what they deserve.....Bob Kiss(my ass)
