Progressive Party gubernatorial candidate Anthony Pollina has endorsed presidential candidate Barak Obama (D-Ill.). Pollina wrote in a press release, "I share his background as a community organizer and understand what this brings to a campaign and elected office. We have seen over the last year, his ability to step outside the political rhetoric and inspire people of all ages and background. I whole heartedly endorse Barack Obama."
Pollina compared his own candidacy to Obama's in the statement: "I appreciate his ability to come from behind. The early polls and pundits painted him as inexperienced and too far to the left. But he was able to go beyond the pundits to speak to and connect directly to people across the country."
Pollina also criticized the Bush administration, referencing Obama as the candidate who could "help us dig out from under the damage the Bush administration has done to our nation's psyche as well as our economy."
